University Medical Oncology

The Medical Oncology Associates of Augusta is a cancer practice with three physicians. The practice offers a multidisciplinary team of professionals including physicians, nurses, chaplain and therapy team members. The Medical Oncology Associates of Augusta’s treatment philosophy focuses on our patients' physical wellness. Each of the nursing staff at Medical Oncology Associates of Augusta has achieved the designation of Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) by the end of the first year of employment, which means he or she has completed a formal program of preparation and testing provided by the Oncology Nursing Society. Medical Oncology Associates is a member of the Georgia CORE Research Network, a statewide network of academic and community-based oncologists and researchers. The Medical Oncology Associates of Augusta is recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The QOPI® Certification Program is a new initiative to certify oncology practices that meet rigorous standards for high-quality cancer care.
